This sermon takes us right to the very heart of the gospel message. Looking at each of the men on the cross either side of Jesus - the criminal who repented and the other criminal who remained resolute in his forsaking of Jesus - we are confronted with the question: which side of the cross am I on - the side of rejection or the side of repentance? Depending on how one responds to Jesus, Christ's cross becomes either a cross of condemnation or a cross of redemption. The good news is that Christ’s promise to the penitent criminal of a heavenly future with Him extends to all who would believe in Jesus.
