Since we are Full-Time Black Woman we wanted to hit on some personal issues that may be going on your lives. Have you ever had to deal with being around a family member who has always been a nuisance in your life? However, you may feel obligated to be around said individual to keep the peace within the family at family gatherings. Family gatherings are becoming rare occurrences nowadays as people move away and families grow. You try to be the bigger person to ensure younger generations build bonds with their kind. However, a fam-esis has the power to change positive vibes within seconds, the entire mood has changed from pure joy to uneasiness. If you can relate to the above situation, you my friend, have a fam-esis.
What is a fam-esis? FTBW defines a fam-esis as a toxic nemesis who shares your DNA or is an extension of your family such as an in-law or a family associate. A fam-esis makes it their goal to intentionally harm you, spread gossip about you and offend you regularly. They get a sick high out of your discomfort because deep down inside there is something about you, they wish they had. You have constant disagreements with your fam-esis, no matter the topic of discussion. The blatant ongoing manipulation or abuse is usually under the radar of fellow family members because they either don’t care or are oblivious to the nasty tactics of this menace. Family is supposed to be our safe haven from the craziness in the world. Unfortunately, families aren’t perfect and there are issues. The commonality of family makes distancing yourself from your fam-esis almost impossible.
