Welcome to Episode 69! Yep! That's right, 69! Happy Pride Month! On this week's episode, Mark & Casey are focused on Pride Month. The Boys have had a busy week and they are ready to paint. So get 'cha some port vintage and let's go in deep.
In this week's Pick-Up, Mark has some tea on the "chip shortage" through his shopping experiences and a quick trip. Then Casey's been kicking off the summer with many a fun activity including sports and a drag show.
Next up it's on to this week's Mid-Section and this one is a goodie -- FULL of tea and information you won't want to miss! Over the last 4 years the LGBTQIA+ community has seen legal challenges and dissention and targeting the community. Equality and acceptance seem to be called into question. With the change in administration there has been a shift in the political climate where LGBTQIA+ rights are considered. This sparks a lively conversation about an article appearing in Forbes listing major corporations who have contributed the most to causes and people who are Anti-LGBTQIA+. Each Pride they change out their logos and change out the photos of products, (etc.) and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community but what happens when when all eyes aren't on LGBTQIA+ rights and causes?? The Boys have some thoughts on this one! It's spirited, it's informative, and it's colorful! This is a Mid-Section for the moment!
Then it's on to everyone's favorite weekly segment, Trash Talk! In this week's collection of topics, a man in Northern NY is on trial for stealing a Pride flag and posting proof to the soci-meeds, a couple gets married mere minutes after a tragedy strikes, and closing it out, a concert promoter in Florida is encouraging concert-goers to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In this week's recommendation, in honor of Pride, Mark is revisiting a classic gay movie about love and friendship and Casey is slipping in with 2 different books full of reads and tea!
