The unthinkable happened early in the first quarter of the @buffalobills and @Bengals NFL game on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Buffalo Bills Safety, Damar Hamlin, made what looked like a routine tackle on Bengals Receiver, Tee Higgins at midfield. Damar stood, removed his mouthguard, then collapsed to the turf.
After receiving CPR to regain his heartbeat, Darmar was promptly taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Over the next hours, the nation seemed to stop what they were doing to #prayfordamar as we waited for an update on his condition.
In the days to come, I saw a divided nation come together to #pray for a situation that was out of their control. I saw those who had been critical of anything that appeared to be "religious" immediately petition #God on behalf of Damar Hamlin.
@espn announcer Dan Orlovsky took it upon himself, during a live broadcast, to not only talk about praying for Damar, but to actually pray--on live TV. Good for you, Dan!
What I began to wonder was, is this nation that is largely denying the power of #JesusChrist, recognizing our need and dependency on Him?
