Today Cardinal Sarah talks about the fact that silence nourishes the heart. When I think of nourishment I think about sustenance and being sustained. Often when were hear sustenance we think about food but here the food that Cardinal Sarah is talking about is the love of God.
As we mentioned yesterday, it renders us speechless because speech is not required.
Cardinal Sarah goes as far as to say that not even the sweet sound of the Gospel, can express the magnificent silence of God.
I feel that is why I am so comfortable in adoration now. I feel his love regardless of what brokenness I bring to him that day. He holds and loves me, most often times without even having to say a word. For me it is the calmness and feeling that fills my heart that tells me that God is present.
Take away: Are you allowing God to nourish you in the silence of your heart? Are you sitting close to him in silence to allow him to nourish you? If not, what is preventing you from it?
