On this weeks episode of the Blended Kingdom Families Podcast, we had the honor of interviewing our friend Summer Butler of the Blended Book Company. Summer is a wife, mother, and author of her new book "Blended: Aligning the Hierarchy of Heart and Home."
In this interview, Summer talks about her ministry, book and experiences as a step-mom and how God spoke to her in the car one day and showed her that she was to raise her step-sons to love Him and call him Father.
We dive into the topic of hierarchy in the home that summer speaks about in her book, and how when we place God first in our home followed by our marriage and then our family, it aligns the home into perfect order. Summer gives amazing insight and wisdom from a step-parents perspective on how we can be a support and encouragement for our stepchildren and that despite all we do for them, the reward of our hard work may not fall on our weekend or in a way that we would expect, but it's our service to them that matters. Our call as a parent is to steward and shepard our children to know and love Him above all.
