Gawain Johnstone has been noted as the most 'electrifying lifter' in powerlifting by the GOAT Ed Coan, becoming one of the first Australian Lifters to squat 1000lbs/455kgs in competition. Gawain also spends his time away from lifting helping and building the athletic profile of athletes from South-East Asia.
