Navigating relationships as a church leader can be interesting to say the least. God has called us to serve people and love people and be in relationship with people in order to love and serve them, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. Often pastors face the difficult aspect of wondering how much of myself can I give to this relationship, is this a safe place, will you hurt me, how much can I share? Or conversely we can be guilty of being stand-offish, cold and not very relational because we’ve been wounded and don’t want to be again.
On this episode of the HCP, Larry and Drew discuss the good and bad of relationships in the church and out. God has created us to live in thrive in relationships, but that doesn’t make it easy. We hope this honest conversation of relational dynamics for pastors is helpful and encouraging to you.
