HCP - Ep. 118 - Mobilizing the Church

We often talk about mission in the church, but the question being asked today is if it’s actually happening. There is a difference in Orthodoxy (Correct belief) and Orthopraxy (correct actions). As the church of Jesus, we’re called to both - rightly dividing the Word of Truth and actively walking it out in our lives. Sometimes we can get stuck in the rut of “doing church” and forget the accountability of making sure that we’re “practicing what we preach”. On the episode of the HCP, Larry and Drew discuss different aspects to becoming a missional church that seeks to do both.

Our prayer is that every church places the Great Commission of Jesus in the drivers seat. Here are some thoughts from today’s podcast:

Mobilization runs on two rails;

1.     Building biblical knowledge (what you know)

2.     Building biblical character (who you are).

Ö      Biblical knowledge is your biblical literacy and I.Q.

Ö      It stresses the importance of handling the Word of God correctly (II Timothy 2:15).

Ö      This foundational rail must be laid well and properly.

3.     The other rail running parallel to biblical knowledge is biblical character and behavior.

Ö      This is the application of obedience to the knowledge you have learned.
