We are told in Exodus 20 to "honor the Sabbath and keep it holy" but in Luke 6 we see Jesus upset the religious elite because he broke their perspective of the Sabbath. The very day they set aside to remember the goodness of God they somehow missed that He was still doing good things.
Over the years, what was a simple command from the Lord turned in hundreds of different amendments. There was a theological drift. So much so they missed an encounter with God in flesh, Jesus Christ - because they were stuck on their own perspectives. Let us not be a people guilty of holding on to our own ways that we miss experiencing The Way!
