In Luke 3, John the Baptist preaches what might be the clearest Gospel message found in the new testament. No fluff, just truth. There are three major components to this declaration:
1. We are all sinners.
2. There is a penalty for our sin.
3. We have a Savior.
John calls on the people to do two things in response to this, repent and be baptized. John is known as the one who came from the wilderness to prepare the way. He prepared the way for The Way. The only way for us to be made right with God is through Jesus - He became our way when there was no way!
