Sundays are all fun and games until around 5 pm. You're minding your business living your best life, and then bam! The reality that Monday is just around the corner hits you, and all the ish hits the fan. You suddenly remember all the things you have to do this week. Emails, meetings, exams, drop-offs, pickups, presentations, and then doom sets it. You get all sweaty, your heart starts racing, and your stomach gets a little queasy. That feeling you are experiencing, my friend, is called the Sunday Scaries. It's anticipatory anxiety that happens when you realize that the weekend is officially over. Getting slammed with the Sunday Scaries sucks big time because they take a big chunk of your weekend away from you. You're so busy worrying about Monday that you don't get the chance to enjoy all of your Sunday. Enough already!
