Our 2nd son has very strong perfectionist tendencies so we as parents have been working with him and with our own selves to develop ourselves more. 

Perfectionism is trying to "arrive" completely around that particular thing or event. 

It is essential to shift to thinking about growth as the goal and not perfectionism.
