While we do know this plant has been known to cause hallucinations and is considered dangerously poisonous, it's probably most popularly known for it's roots resemblance to the human form. For centuries it's embodied a symbol of fertility and renewal in both lore and popular culture. It has mystified and interested humans for centuries from the Bible to Harry Potter.
