This week Cali High has a very special interview with Tom Schnabel: the man that brought Southern California world music on his show 'Morning Becomes Eclectic' at KCRW for decades since 1978. Cali High talks with Tom about the time Peter Tosh was interviewed at KCRW smoking a spliff, and other stories about Roger Steffens and The Reggae Beat, the beginning of Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl, and some of his other favorite reggae artists. Among the many hats Schnabel has worn: Author, Journalist, DJ, Educator, LA Lifeguard, host of 'Morning Becomes Eclectic', and former KCRW music supervisor. In 1998 he was awarded the French Medal of Arts and given the title; 'Le Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres', for his work in bringing World Music to America.
