I’ve known Harry for years. Mutual friends and sporting rivals since 11 years old. He’s now a member of Fitlife and recently saved my life when I pinned myself under the bench press... True story.
He was the first person I knew of who was the same age and lost a parent, when we were just 15 years old. I remember at the time thinking how incomprehensible that was.
18 years later, now a primary school teacher. Harry has become an author, with a children’s book titled ‘Into the dark’. A raw and emotional story of a young boy losing his mum. His motives are to help families deal with grief and to give them hope of finding the light in a dark world.
This isn’t just my favourite podcast recording to date. It’s also one of my favourite conversations I’ve ever had. It’s a conversation I’ve thought about and listened to many times over, I’ve also read the book multiple times, and it’s lead me to re open my grieving of my dad, who I lost aged 21.
I just want to thank Harry for being brave enough to write this book, to come onto the podcast to give us this incredible episode, and for being a member and friend.
