This week, Toni and Wendy enter the anthology galaxy when “Lady Whistledown Strikes Back.” Lady W is keeping her eyes and ears open for possible clues as to who stole Lady Neely’s bracelet from her would be satiating dinner party. Could it have been the fortune hunter who’s trying to keep a low profile while keeping his promise to his friend to watch over his unmarried sister in Julia Quinn’s “The First Kiss.” Lady Neely can’t imagine her companion being the thief. Her imagination lies in her parent’s insistence in dreaming and imagining the perfect Japanese ball in Mia Ryan’s “The Last Temptation.” There are some who have been defending the recently returned Lord Easterly to stop accusing him without evidence, including Miss Charlotte, who is concerned about keeping her promise to her parents to not cause any scandal for the family in Suzanne Enoch’s “The Best of Both Worlds.” To help clear his name and her guilt, Lady Easterly tries to find out where Lady N’s bracelet is, but we would like to find out if the Easterly’s have found a desire to renew their vows at the same time. It is reported by Lady W that they’ve been seen together, like coming out of the bushes, in Karen Hawkins’ “The Only One for Me.” The majority of the ton may be wondering who took the bracelet, but life is still happening for those who are keeping their promises to those they cared or care for.
