What are your real motives behind the desire to be successful? Is it self validating? or perhaps for monetary gain?
For a long time, I wanted to be successful, so I could prove to everyone that had never believed in me; that I had done something with my life. It was my sole motivation; everything I did was empowered by insecurities and the hurtful things people had said over the years. Until the Holy Spirit showed me the state of my heart; It was a hard pill to swallow. I instantly knew I had to do better because the gift God had given me was not being utilized the way he had intended.
