Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!
Thank you so much for joining me again!
Happy Friday!
This week's theme for the podcast is: Mentally Healthy During the Holidays
This week I am going to be chatting about some specific topics that can help you feel more mentally healthy during this holiday season.
The holiday season is the time where people will feel more alone, depressed & anxious than normal with the overwhelming amount of events, family functions & presumed obligations. I'm here to share some suggestions on how to navigate enjoying the season, budgeting, setting boundaries, ect.
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- Let’s round out the week by talking about the best way to heal overall. Acknowledging how you feel about whatever is going on & learning from those emotions.
- Taking the time to acknowledge that you are feeling a certain way is the first step to healing the parts of your mind & heart that are affected by those emotions & help you figure out how you got there & what you need to do next to understand why & move on.
- And I will speak on how to learn from your feelings here shortly, but I wanted to really highlight acknowledging feelings first because it’s important to understand if you don’t have the courage & strength first to own up to those feelings & admit to having them, you won’t get very far.
- You have to be honest with yourself first or no healing will take place.
- Taking the time to reflect on how you are feeling, what may have triggered those feelings & what you should do about it next is important, as well.
- Reflection is a task that may seem boring & unnecessary, but it’s very important to get to the root of how you’re feeling, not just surface level.
- Today I want give you 4 tips on how to acknowledge & learn from your feelings:
- Tip #1: Be honest with yourself, at least. Don’t cover it up.
- Tip #2: Seek out triggers & reasons for why you may be feeling this way. What path brought you to where you are?
- Tip #3: Figure out if you can learn to react differently in the future that would serve you better.
- Tip #4: Don’t try to speed through healing. Take your time.
Please share this podcast with anyone that may need this encouragement!
