Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!
Thank you so much for joining me again!
Happy Monday!
This week's theme for the podcast is: No More Negativity
A lot of us spend more time talking, sharing & focusing on the negatives in our life, when we need to be spending more time highlighting the positives.
This week I want to talk about some tips to rid yourself of negativity in relation to your thoughts, self-doubt, worry, perfectionism, control issues, and complaining habits.
Hopefully these tips will help steer you toward a more positive mindset, become more aware of triggers that bring out negative emotions and focus less on gossipy problems and more on positive, happy stories.
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- This week we are going to talk about kicking negativity out of your life!
- I feel like it is super easy to highlight the negative things in our life as opposed to the positive. We always want to tell people what happened to us that was bad and barely mention the good.
- And I get that bad things are more gossipy and juicy stories to tell, but positive things are more uplifting and encouraging, to be honest.
- So if you struggle with negative thoughts, I am here to give you some things to think about to make a change in your life.
- Today I will give you some easy tips to recognize and cut negativity out of your daily life and through this week we will chat about how negativity is associated with self doubt, worry, perfectionism, control issues, and complaining.
- One of the biggest tips for combating negative thoughts is to be aware when you are drifting into a negative headspace.
- If you find yourself becoming negative, whether it’s by yourself or within a group or multiple person setting, stop yourself immediately. And as awkward as it may seem, if it means you have to leave the situation you are currently in to do so, then do it.
- I encourage this to sustain the best mental health possible.
- Also, it’s important to realize if certain people or groups of people bring out the worst in you. If that’s the case, please reconsider spending time with those friends in general or until you are able to manage your emotions enough to not get caught up in their negativity. Sometimes it’s very easy to feed into whatever everyone else is doing.
- Another way to keep your negativity in check is to be aware of your triggers.
- If you can identify people, places, topics, situations that bring out negativity in you, it should help you avoid, deal or manage it.
- If you have never heard of triggers, I encourage you to look into them and what it would mean to you.
- Triggers are things that cause you to feel and act a certain kind of way. If you’ve never taken the time to consider whether or not the same people, situations or topics are causing you to act out or be affected emotionally, i would highly encourage you to do so, as this will help you become more self-aware & on top of the management of your emotions.
- I want to end today’s episode by talking about a couple more things that will help cut back on negative thoughts.
- Serving someone else will definitely help you humble yourself and stop focusing on your own negative thoughts &
