Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!
Thank you so much for joining me again!
This week's theme for the podcast is: Practical Self Care Tips
This week I want to talk to share with you some super practical self-care tips.
Sometimes it's just best to get back to some basic tips to improve your life. We can talk about the nitty-gritty & in-depth topics all day long, but sometimes looking at things from a high level can make it a little easier to implement into your life.
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- I don’t have a good morning routine. I aspire to have one, some day when I can get my life together, but for now, I have a semi-functional morning routine. And that’s good for me right now.
- I don’t think I have ever had a very strict morning routine in my entire life. There are always things I have to do every single morning to actually prepare for the day or make me feel awake & ready to get whatever done, but I have this ultimate desire to include other things I could totally romanticize & wax poetically about to you.
- Things like journaling, meditation or reading would be a nice addition to my morning, but I never create enough time for that. And I don’t anticipate working that in anytime soon, but maybe someday after I retire from my full-time job.
- The things I do give my time to in the morning is a quick wash of the face, letting the dog out & my workout during the work week. That is my current routine that doesn’t change much at all because I don’t think it could get any easier, plus it accomplishes the things most important to me, taking care of my dog & taking care of my health.
- Which I believe is what is most important. The point of a morning routine is to set the tone for the day & have a better handle over how your day will go, rather than letting your schedule drive the day.
- If you are able to start your day ready to take on whatever comes at you & prioritize the rest, you’re good to go. Productivity is more likely with a set routine & a mindset the ha been prepped for the day.
- So let’s chat about how we can craft the best morning routine for us:
- 1. Plan your day the night before or right when you get up.
- 2. Find a quick daily mindfulness activity you can do in the morning. (devotional, gratitude list or journaling)
- 3. Try to get in some daylight & movement.
- 4. Drink some water. (improves circulation, alertness & assists in digestion)
