This week's theme for the podcast is: My Favorite Daily Affirmations
This week I want to share with you some of my favorite affirmations that really pump me up & get my self-confidence going, especially when I am going through some hard times.
I hope these really help you & you give these a try on the regular. I find the practice of daily affirmations, speaking these into the mirror to yourself or just quietly to yourself, can really boost your mood & ability to push through difficult times.
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- So, I know that some people believe that respect needs to be earned, but I do not believe this. I know that you could possibly GAIN more respect from others, when showing your strengths & achievements, but there should always be a level of respect from anyone.
- And I know this isn’t actually what happens all the time in real life, but it’s what SHOULD be happening.
- First off, we should ALWAYS be swimming in self-respect. It’s the same practice as most things I talk about, if you don’t respect yourself first, you should not expect others to do the same. But ALSO, if you can’t respect yourself, you shouldn’t expect it to be easy to respect others, either. You have to do it for yourself first, then you can do it for others & expect others to do so, also. It’s kind of like you can’t pour from an empty glass.
- So whether you are telling yourself this affirmation because you want to practice more self respect or you are assuring yourself that you do deserve respect from others, whether or not you are currently receiving it, it’s a great way to remind yourself that respect is important to you.
- If you are having trouble practicing self-respect, I encourage you to try the following: remember that what others think of you shouldn’t control you & really is none of your business/don’t compromise your own values for others/don’t speak to yourself negatively.
- I also want to remind you that you do not have to please everyone or anyone all of the time or most of the time. You also need to know where your boundary line is for being nice & kind to crossing over into being a people pleaser & just doing things for others to earn their respect, care, attention & love.
- Try this in the mirror today: I deserve to be respected. And say it until you mean it & do it regularly.
