Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!
Thank you so much for joining me again!
Happy Friday!
This week's theme for the podcast is: No More Negativity
A lot of us spend more time talking, sharing & focusing on the negatives in our life, when we need to be spending more time highlighting the positives.
This week I want to talk about some tips to rid yourself of negativity in relation to your thoughts, self-doubt, worry, perfectionism, control issues, and complaining habits.
Hopefully, these tips will help steer you toward a more positive mindset, become more aware of triggers that bring out negative emotions and focus less on gossipy problems and more on positive, happy stories.
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- We will all have to deal with negativity at some point. It’s just how life goes. But learning to limit and manage how it affects you & your life is the key.
- We don’t get to choose when bad or difficult things happen to us, but we do get to choose our mindset & perspective.
- It’s important to remember that when you are feeling yourself dip into a place of negativity & complaining, catch yourself before the thought spirals out of control.
- It’s also helpful to surround yourself with people that are uplifting & positive on the regular. There isn’t going to be anyone that is happy & positive all of the time, but if the majority of their days are spent spouting off negativity, that’s not the best company.
- And make time for positive experiences, like finding time with friends & enjoying hobbies, as well as making time for exercise, which is known to boost mood.
- If you have trouble balancing the negativity in your life, stress management might be something to look into, too. Stress management techniques are easy to look up online & for sure I will be doing a week talking about it, too.
- I want to give you a few things you can focus on to have a positive perspective, instead of spending any time complaining.
- First off, spend more time focusing on gratitude, especially when you have the urge to complain. This will help you focus on the good & humble you as well.
- It’s also helpful to focus on taking care of yourself, nurturing yourself & making sure you are putting your needs first. If you don’t take care of yourself, you aren’t able to help anyone else.
- Something that might seem strange to suggest to help manifest a positive perspective is to take some time to focus on forgiveness & letting things go. Continuing to hold grudges & transgressions against others will only continue to manifest more negativity in your life because of the weight judgment you are holding against them.
- Lastly, find ways to empower yourself & take control of your mindset every single day. This could be positive affirmations, listening & watching positive programming, like podcasts or youtube videos or audiobooks (regular reading works, too), cut out anyone in your life that brings you down or is constantly spitting out negativity, try to simplify your life to cut back on stress, and spend some time focusing on goals & bettering yourself that way. Focus on things that are going to help you grow more into your best self, which will help you cultivate more positive opportunities.
