This week's theme for the podcast is: Top 10 Mental Health Tips
This week we are going to speak about my favorite tips for overcoming regular, everyday struggles we all deal with at some point that is related to our mental health.
Join me in going over my favorite top 10 tips for getting through some of the biggest life struggles.
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- Number 1, Exercise Regularly. Exercise can help improve mood, sleep, anxiety & stress. Reducing the negative impact of these things on your everyday life will improve your ability to have a clear & focused mind. Problems related to these often lead to brain fog & issues focusing.
- Number 2, Discover Your Productive Hour. Try to figure out if there is a time of day that works best for you to get things done. It could be more than an hour if just general morning time works best for you. But try to pinpoint that time of day & maximize it as much as possible. Usually, this is the time where your mental clarity & ability to keep things in balance works the best.
- Number 3, Ask for Help. This is one I have spoken about recently. You need to ask for help when you need it. You have to allow others to provide their time & talents to assist you, especially when they really want to. It will only hurt you more in the end if you do not.
- Number 4, Mediation. This is not something I really practice, but I have been told it is really helpful with coming back to who you are internally & a baseline to restart from. You are able to reconnect with who you are, what you want & how you truly want to go about things. It also allows for the mind to feel calm momentarily, which helps break up any instances of stress.
- Number 5, Journal for Reflection. I talk about doing reflections often. You don’t necessarily have to journal to do it, but it helps when trying to recall how you are feeling & what happened when you felt the way you did. Sometimes recall of that type of stuff is really hard.
- Number 6, Learn to Accept Negative Feelings. Accept that you will sometimes have negative feelings & that the best way to overcome those is to confront those, not runaway. Figure out what is causing the feelings, whether it’s direct outside feedback or developed from a separate experience. Then you will be able to figure why those are present & move on from it sooner.
- Number 7, Practice Forgiveness. Holding onto hurts, pains & transgressions will not do anything to the offender & only be worse for you in the end. Forgive them & move forward with your life. Don’t let those experiences hold you back from enjoying your life & living your best.
- Number 8, Create Healthier Habits. This could be eating healthier, having a strict sleeping schedule, getting health concerns checked up on, having some personal quiet time, limiting screens, and/or including grounding in your routine.
- Number 9, Get Counseling.
- Number 10, Learn to Focus on the Present. Worrying about the past will not change the past. Worrying about the future will not make it come quicker or turn out the way you want it to.
