This week's theme for the podcast is: Encouragements for the Year
This week I want to give you ideas on what to focus on that will provide you encouragement throughout the year! I have chosen 5 things that are super important to your personal growth & that will help you on your journey to becoming your best self.
I hope you enjoy & pass these tips along to someone else that may need it!
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- Today I wanted to briefly mention keeping your emotions in order.
- I know this doesn’t really sound like an encouragement, but it is because it can help you have a great year & practice self-awareness. Having your emotions in control can also aid in more happiness, rather than a negative alternative if your feelings are all over the place.
- With such a different kind of year behind us & possibly more struggles in front of us before we return to a new normal status, it’s important to keep your emotions in check so you aren’t constantly overwhelmed or on an emotional rollercoaster.
- And I don’t think I need to talk too much about emotions today, since it’s the bulk of what I talk about all the time, so we are going to jump into a short list of how to keep your emotions in check.
- First off, don’t avoid your emotions, face them head on.
- Next, it’s important to ask yourself if your current emotions are helpful or hurtful. Determine if what you are currently feeling is something you should continue to engage or something you need to shut down.
- Next, plan some time to worry or freak out or stress out in a comfortable & controlled environment.
- Next, find a distraction or have one at the ready. I suggest this only if you understand what you are feeling & don’t need to continue any reflection on those feelings.
- Lastly, shift your perspective & incorporate appreciation.
