With Trost evacuated the remaining scouts have run out of gas for their ODM gear. With their backup team gone they're unable to reach the walls for safety. Mikasa makes a play for the local headquarters to find more gas, but it's overrun by titans. She rallies the troops but falls in her attempt to get to HQ. Jean takes command of the unit's retreat, and Mikasa is miraculously saved by an extremely abnormal titan--one that knows hand-to-hand combat.
