On this week's two-part episode of TSAM, J.Mix is joined by William Howard to discuss white ally-ship and what it looks like from the perspective of a person of color. J.Mix addresses the confrontations she had with two white male followers on social media as well as the overflow of inspiration and support from her followers (Shout-out to Brandon Michael Nase and Frank Casabianca). Will discusses his upbringing and how he utilized his blackness to excel in childhood. Both discuss their ideal white-ally, and what they need to bring to the cookout in order to be respected by black folks. In Part Two, we will be joined by our second guest, Andy Bower, to discuss what white ally-ship looks like from the white perspective.
J.Mix is always down for some quality chat, please feel free to DM her @theselfawaremillennial on Instagram to discuss anything that may be harboring your mind with ease or stress.
