Description

This week Thomas DeSchutter of Bloom Strategies, interviews Emily-Anne King, co-founder of Backpack Buddies, a non-profit that fills the weekend gap for children who rely on school meal programs.

Emily-Anne and her mother and co-founder Joanne Griffiths, began Backpack Buddies to support inner city kids facing food insecurity. Backpack buddies works with Vancouver area schools to build healthy meals for kids to take home over the weekend. Contribute to Backpack Buddies HERE.

Some Questions I ask:

At (00:05:18) What is the food challenge for BC kids?

At (00:06:31) How much contact do they have with the kids?

At (00:08:00) Is there shame or embarrassment from the parents?

At (00:15:20) What do you get from this?

At (00:22:52) How does the foodbank fit into what you are doing?

At (00:27:06) Are there any other programs like this across the US and Canada?
