We resist " the things we can not change" about our relationship with alcohol, because we think it's US, when in fact, it's the alcohol.
Accepting the reality the alcohol is no longer suited for the life I want to live, is the first step in resisting change.
When you take a break from alcohol, you have to examine your why and what you have really been believing about alcohol.
If a break is only to "figure alcohol out" then it's never going to work.
If a break is to let go of your attachment to is so you can discover who you are, then you'll have plenty to focus on.
Enjoy the process of being you. Get excited about new experiences.
