On August 10, 2020 a derecho swept through the United States leaving a trail of destruction behind. Cedar Rapids, Iowa was hit hardest with top wind speeds estimated at 140 mph by the National Weather Service. St. Luke's Hospital sustained significant damage, as did much of Eastern Iowa.
Today, as we mark the one-year anniversary, our team reflects on the storm and how far we have come since then - a catastrophic event within a pandemic.
