Description

In 1998, four women were convicted of the sexual assault of two young children. Elizabeth Ramirez, Cassandra Rivera, Kristie Mayhugh, and Anna Vasquez were all lesbians and this played a role in their trial and public perception. Outdated medical evidence and satanic panic led to their conviction. They would serve over almost 2 decades in prison before being exonerated.
