A native of Calhoun, Georgia, David Chattam’s acting career began purely by accident in 2001 at the tender age of 32. While working a job in the Information Technology field in Nashville, TN, and with no background in, or no aspirations for acting whatsoever, a co-worker convinced him to be an extra in the DreamWorks motion picture “The Last Castle” filming in Nashville. Fate stepped in and on David’s first day on set, he was bumped up to a principal role, and the next day found himself doing his very first movie scene ever with James Gandolfini and Delroy Lindo!
Two years later, David gave up his position in the world of corporate America, and embarked on a full-time career as an actor. Since then, David has appeared in numerous films, television shows, television and radio commercials, and even has a few audiobook recordings under his belt. He has also amassed an impressive career on stage, working with such noted theatre companies as Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Tennessee Repertory Theatre, and Nashville Children’s Theatre. David has even lent his vocal talents for an exhibit in the National Museum of African American History in Washington, DC. Since relocating from Nashville to Los Angeles in 2015, David’s career has continued to flourish and he looks forward to the new and exciting challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
