Description

Tom joined the Australian Army in 2008 and served for 8 years in the infantry; first as a private solider, and then early on in his career, he was commissioned as an officer.

In this episode Tom talks about his family history with the military and the incentive to join himself, going through all training as a private solider before requesting to become an officer, where he went through Royal Military College Duntroon.

Tom also shares his experience returning from an operational tour of Afghanistan, multiple roles as an officer once back, and his medical battles; which included tackling mental health. He goes on to explain the company he co-founded called With You With Me, which helps build new talent pools for in-demand tech roles using their data-led workforce solutions. Many of the workforce are military veterans.
