*It’s possible to be so consumed with the “there” we miss the “Along the Way”…
*Think of all the things that happened in the Bible “Along the Way”…
*David… was in a dead-end job with no end in sight…tending sheep and delivering cheese…His
family saw him only as a sheepherder and delivery boy….even after he was prophesied over….
Ruth…Jesus…Joseph…Paul
*Don't confuse purpose with task…. Sometimes we have to do many tasks that don't seem
to completely align with our purpose. (Karate Kid…wax on—wax off—paint the fence—paint
the house…
*You are here today by divine appointment…you are watching or listening by divine
appointment… He can lead you to His good; acceptable; and perfect will…
*You weren’t born and then called…you were called and then born…Jeremiah 1
* Remember though...there is a difference between fate and destiny…
*Just because God allowed it doesn’t mean He willed it….but He can redeem it… (fall of
man in Genesis)
*So…I might not know specifics of what’s happening in your life right now, but here’s what I do
know: If you’re here…if you’re watching or listening…You want to walk out your God-given
purpose.
*But just because you’re here in the plan of God doesn’t mean you’ll get anything out of it…
*Hebrews 4:2… “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word
which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
*Who is them? Chapter 3…16…Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by
Moses? 19…So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
*They were in the right place at the right time…but…they didn’t view their opportunity
through the eyes of faith…
*Our spiritual hopes are high…our spiritual habits are low…
*There will be pre ordained opportunities and connections all along the journey that will
require us to mix faith and expectation…
*But…Opportunities will always be surrounded by uncertainties…
*And…Courage will always be needed to overcome uncertainty…
*Joshua 1:1-9 “After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the
LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead.
Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am
giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread
upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as
the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea
toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5 No man shall be able to stand
before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not
leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people
