#013 The Responsibilities of a Special Educator- Part 1
This is a 3 part episode for obvious reasons...
A special educator has SO many responsibilities that it would do this topic a disservice to try to cram it all into one short episode.
Today's focus is on our responsibility to our students and breaks it down into 3 main areas
These areas are cyclical...meaning they don't happen independently but instead each one is developed in relation to the other two.
We assess, plan, instruct...assess, plan, instruct and on and on.
As special educators we serve as an advocate for the child and it is our professional responsibility to work to the best of our ability in that capacity. Assessment, instructional planning, and teaching are all primary duties of that position.
Next week we will talk about a special educator's responsibilities to their school.
