#022 How to Show Appreciation to Your Paraprofessionals
I hate the words "JUST a paraprofessional."
There is no JUST about it. These individuals are worth their weight in gold.
Special Education teachers cannot do what they do and be successful at it without the help of the special angels who work in our classrooms...These individuals are my right hand and sometimes 1/2 my brain.
They are able to make strong connections with our students and often know the kids strengths & weaknesses better than I do.
So, because they are so important to my classroom, I want them to feel appreciated often.
But I get bogged down in my days and weeks and often forget to let them know how important they are to me.
Today's guest, Jessica Buckley, is a young, bubbly, creative special educator who helps supervise 15 paraprofessionals and shares with us her ideas of how to show appreciation to the people who make our lives easier.
