Episode 85: Post secondary success for students with special needs
This week's guest is Fiona Gonzalez from Sped Adulting. Fiona is a mod/severe high school transition teacher who is in charge of vocational curriculum for the high school and transition students and organizes and runs the on and off campus work experience programs. During her first year of teaching, she discovered that it was hard to find age appropriate resources for her students so she began creating curriculum herself. What started as Fiona’s need for creating resources for her own classroom turned into something bigger than she could ever imagine. Her resources have helped thousands of teachers all over the world with their lesson plans and hundred of thousands of students reach their goals to greater independence. This year she has been nominated as Special Education Teacher of the Year at the EDU Choice Awards happening this summer.
