The Texas Longhorn baseball coaching legend, Cliff Gustafson passed away at age 91.
Three of his former players from the 1980s: Calvin Schiraldi, Ty Harrington, and Greg Swindell all took time out of their evening to discuss their beloved coach.
Coach Gus won 1466 games at Texas, won 2 national titles, led the Longhorns baseball program to 17 CWS trips to Omaha, and captured 22 SWC championships.
But, it was the man we call, "Gus" who impacted all of his players included Schiraldi, Harrington, and Swindell. It became emtional somewhat as expected.
The humorous side to Coach Gus including his habitual lunches: peanut butter & honey sandwiches, Lay's potato chips, and powdered iced tea was discussed at length.
