Body confidence. Those two words can absolutely set us squirming, can't they? But today I'm joined by Anita McLachlan, who's on a mission to support women to feel more confident in their bodies ... AND in a swimsuit.
Anita is the founder of the online swimwear store Sequins and Sand. What started off as an online retail business rapidly evolved into something far deeper. In Anita's own words, "It goes way beyond just selling stuff. Cossie Confidence is the key and when you break it down, that's what I'm really in the business of...womens' confidence. I want to create a legacy that helps women love themselves. And it will reach far beyond them to their family and friends as she leads by example, confident in her body and who she is."
In our conversation Anita and I talk about how this transition - from simply selling swimwear to taking on the mission of helping women love themselves - came to be. At the core of it, Anita recognised that swimwear had the power to trigger a deep sense of body shame and hatred, and she set out to change that for the better.
Join us for this conversation to hear:
> what the Cossie Confidence Campaign sets out to communicate to women
> the ways Anita and her team support women to shift from the fear of showing up in a swimsuit to having the confidence to do so
> the importance of community, seeing ourselves in others, finding a sense of safety and embracing the body and life we have.
I loved this conversation and I know you will too.
