Joyful Rebellion.
I love the feel of those words. Joyful Rebellion.
Let's dive into exploring what this is in this episode of SelfKind with Erica Webb (that's me!).
Joyful rebellion is my current favourite way of describing the joy that can come with recognising your capacity for choice, stepping away from reflexive guilt and allowing yourself to connect with your needs, desires and joy.
Tune into the episode to hear:
- the origins of this idea (at least for me)
- why the nature of having options can lead to automatic judgment and hierarchical thinking
- what reflexive guilt is
- the symbiotic relationship of structure (if you want it) and joyful rebellion
- the realities of balancing immediate comfort with long-term desires, goals and values
- why it's important to get shame and guilt out of the driver's seat of your life, but not to expect them to disappear completely.
