In the gospel of John, we read of Jesus interacting with a Samaritan woman. The story explains that both being a woman and a Samaritan at that time were seen as being a part of a lower social status compared to a male Jew. However, the conversation Jesus has and what he offers to the woman is both surprising and illuminating of his heart and mission for all people.
