In our sin, shame and brokenness, the most joyful place we can find ourselves is in the loving light of Jesus' judgment. In Jesus' interactions with the woman from Samaria (Jn 4) and with Peter after his betrayal (Jn 21), we see that those who knew Jesus, ran toward them in their deepest shame, longing for his judgment and justice.
