This was me in 2011,ย three weeks after my girlfriend ended our relationship. I was struggling badly, but I hid it well.
I got all my validation from her and suddenly that was removed from my life. I didnโt know any proactive ways to cope so I turned to drugs and alcohol. ย
I was keeping myself as busy as I could to avoid the painโฆ a pain I wish I acknowledged. I was experiencing my first real heartbreak and the first warning sign I wasnโt comfortable with who I was.
Every time I see this photo, I remember what I thinking & feeling and I wish I could go back and tell myself what I know now.
I was lost, I hated myself and I thought I needed other peoples validation to prove I was worthy.
Man, I was wrongโฆ

I needed myself. I needed to step up and acknowledge my insecurities and find the answers within to overcome that.
