Last week, Scott Schaeffer told us his story. In 1989 he was arrested and convicted of the homicide of Rickey Wolfe, a man he claims he had never before met. Roy Hummel, who was also arrested for the crime, testified that Scott was involved. 17 years later, he recanted his testimony and Scott was released from prison.
Today, Scott continues to fight a legal battle to have his name cleared of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit third-degree murder. He pled "no contest" to these charges in order to be released from prison in 2006. Attorney Joel Wiest represents Scott Schaeffer in the courtroom and is joining us today to explain their efforts.
