A professor of philosophy and theology, Dermot was accelerated to the position of Bishop because of his great faith and understanding of theology. Sent on a secret mission in Ireland to encourage the people to remain strong against heresy he was soon discovered when he spoke out against false teachings. Imprisoned and tortured he was then secretly executed because he would not give in to their attempts to break his spirit.
