Warning! The book of Leviticus is where the great falling away gets very serious.

Most who start reading with great passion make it this far, but in the next week or two they start dropping like flies. That’s one big reason we’re doing this series – not just to make these passages bearable, but understandable, applicable and exciting.

This is the first (but not the last) time we talk about why we, as Christians, follow some Old Testament laws, but not others. It’s because there are three types of Old Testament laws.

1. Ceremonial: we don’t do them any more because Jesus’ sacrifice made them unnecessary
2. Civil: laws for Israelites that God didn’t even expect other nations to obey
3. Moral: for everyone at all times (like the 10 Commandments)

If you’re reading so far, this might be a good time to start a hybrid strategy by mixing in some audio books as well.
