Listen

Description

Our Christmas series here at Compass will take a look at three unique aspects of the identity of this baby that everyone stops to focus on during this time of the year. In this first message, our focus will be on his identity as the Son of Adam. In Luke 3, we find a list of names called a genealogy. What makes this list of names special is that it is the genealogy of Jesus. It begins with Jesus’ earthly father, Joseph, and proceeds to trace its way throughout the generations until we come to verse 38, where we read that he was a descendant of Adam, the son of God. Why does it matter that Jesus is the Son of Adam? In short, if Jesus isn’t the Son of Adam, then you and I aren’t forgiven, we’re not justified, and we’re not at peace with God because we’re still in our sins. Join us this weekend as we dive into Romans 5:12-21 to uncover the importance of Jesus as the Second Adam. But because Jesus is the Son of Adam, we have all of those because he did what the first Adam couldn’t.
