Gail Cutler of Rebecca’s Dream speaks with Tom Smith about his new book, A Balanced Life: Nine Strategies for Coping with the Mental Health Problems of a Loved One. The book emerged from his family’s own experience with bipolar disorder. Recognizing that, for families and their loved ones with a mental illness, recovery means finding balance, Tom shares nine clear-cut, effective strategies to strike and maintain that balance. The strategies address warning signs, self-esteem, self-care, medication and counseling.
