Rodericka Applewhaite grew up in Georgia and is a political research and communications professional who has worked on several federal and statewide Democratic campaigns. Off the trail, she had a stint at EMILY's List, heading the pro-choice organizations vetting operation for state and local candidates which processed over 700 potential endorsees for the 2017/18 cycle. Most recently, she was on the rapid response team for now-Transportation Secretary Buttigieg's presidential run. Currently, she serves as the Senior Communications Advisor at the Michigan Democratic Party, aiding in the battleground state's efforts to keep the governor's office solid blue. She has a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University and is a class of 2021 Political Partner of the Truman National Security Project. She's also a huge Marvel Cinematic Universe fan.
