Cottrell, Stan. To Run and Not Be Weary, Fleming H. Revell Company,1986.

Here are some truths from scripture that speak to love and friendship that Christ has modeled and taught us.

1 John 4:7 - "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God."

Leviticus 19:18 - "You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord."

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

1 Peter 4:8-10 ESV

8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:

Luke 6:31 ESV

31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.

We hope this discussion has gotten you thinking and expanding your mindset about friendships and the command to love your neighbor.

And thinking about developing some unexpected friendships that God may be putting together for you.

Because He loves you and wants you to share His love with others through friendship on many different levels.
